Carers information
All patients having a procedure at Brisbane Procedure Centre must have a designated carer to escort them home and to stay with them for 24 hours after surgery. The procedure centre staff will provide carers with an estimated time of discharge on the day of surgery.
Carers are welcome to wait in the Brisbane Procedure Centre patient lounge until the patient is ready to be discharged or alternatively, they can visit the many dining options, art galleries and coffee shops which are all a short stroll away. James Street Market is also just 5 mins walk distance from our Brisbane Procedure Centre.
Upon discharge the carer will receive discharge instructions, please ensure these instructions are followed and do not hesitate to speak with the hospital staff if there are any questions. You can find more information about discharge under our post-procedure page.
